Cleaning Miele vaccum cleaners on a regular basis will help ensure the proper performance and may even extend the life of these very durable and powerful devices. Cleaning your own Miele vacuum is not a very difficult task but before doing so, it is important to make sure that the vacuum cleaner is turned off and is not plugged in.

The maintenance and cleaning task of Miele vacuums can be easier than you expect. First, you have to set your vacuum upright and then lift up on the release button in order to open the dust compartment. Pull the tab on the vacuum’s dust bag and remove it from the device. Once the old dust bag has been discarded, clean the interior of the dust compartment by wiping down it using a dry cloth. The next step is to open the filter frame and then lift out the old filter. Afterwards, you can install the new filter by pushing it gently into place. You can now connect the new dust bag to the vacuum’s nozzle. Unfold the dust bag once it is properly attached to the nozzle and then close the dust compartment. Open you Miele vacuum’s exhaust filter compartment then pull the filter up and out in order to remove it. Open the filter frame so you can lift out the old filter and replace it with a new one. Once the new filter is placed, close the frame and slide the filter holder into position inside your vacuum cleaner. Close the exhaust filter compartment and clean your vacuum’s exterior surface using a clean damp cloth.

Once the cleaning task is finished, you should plug your vacuum in and turn it on. Press and hold the reset button and wait until the filter change indicator lights go out. Afterwards, you can turn the vacuum off, unplug it and store it in a cool and dry place.
